Continuous boat ownership, sail and power, since 1970, with over 30,000 open ocean miles, including 2 trans-Atlantic crossings and
once through the Panama Canal. Thousands of cruising miles from Guatemala to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia including many
Intracoastal Waterway trips (both inside and outside). Also the Great Lakes and Erie Canal,
12 trips to the Bahamas since 1981, Turks and Caicos, Puerto Rico,
Virgin Islands, Windward and Leeward Islands
Owner of A-1 Sailboats, new boat dealer and used boat brokerage from 1972 to present, with over
2500 boats sold, most of which were personally commissioned.
Twenty years of Wednesday night sailboat racing and a dozen years
of Chesapeake Bay Yacht Racing Association monohull and multihull racing, including 11
Governor's Cup races, and 3 Annapolis to Bermuda races (7 Bermuda trips total).
